Our Wedding

Our love story started in our home town of El Paso. We met at the gym in 2019. After a couple of months of small talk, awkward flirting, and smiles from across the gym we went on our first date. Sonny picked Jackie up in his Hondaratti and there were immediate sparks. No, we aren’t talking about sparks from his car either. We started dating and never left each other’s sides. A couple of months later we both were given opportunities to further our careers and grow. Jackie received the opportunity to become a flight attendant with American Airlines in Washington DC and Sonny became a Manager in Training with 84 lumber in El Paso. We worked on our relationship from 2000 miles away. Distance makes the heart grow fonder but also stronger. In 2020 our timelines and cities finally aligned during the height of Covid. Sonny received a promotion to become a manager with 84 Lumber in Dallas, and Jackie transferred bases from DCA to DFW. In 2021 we increased our family to 3 we brought our son Jackson home to Dallas. The three of us made our house a home. Growing together has been a blessing and a blast. After a couple of years of traveling, working on our home, and enjoying life Sonny asked Jackie to Marry him! Now, our family of three would be honored for you to celebrate this new chapter of our lives as we make a full circle moment back to our old western Texas town of El Paso.

For those of you that don’t know me, I’m Sonny’s mother, Lily.
I’m so proud of the man he has become. I praise Sonny for becoming the kind, strong, hardworking and caring man he is today.  I thank God for blessing me in raising the hunk of man Jackie will marry soon. Jackie, you are so lucky!  
I’m also thankful to God for bringing Uncle Jackie into his life and fulfilling him with happiness. I’m proud to call you my second beautiful daughter I didn’t have.  You both were meant for each other and destined to be together.  May your future be filled with love, health and happiness, always and forever. 
I hope you all read this now, cuz I’m sure I’ll forget all of it when it comes to my speech at the wedding.

Mother of all the Dragons. I can’t begin to express how proud I am of my little brother. He has definitely come a long way since hiding skid marked undies under the bed. I am so grateful to Jackie for encouraging Sonny to move to DFW and build a great life together. They are the best “Uncles” to our four babies. We are very excited to participate in the next step of their journey.

I am the proud supplier of the Ring bearer & Flower girls and apparently the beer… I started dating Sonny’s sister (Jasmine) at the age of 13, which would make Sonny 10. I have been witness to many important milestones in Sonny’s life, including his first beer. We are honored to be part of this special day and so glad that Sonny has trapped Jackie for the rest of his life.

I remember it like it was yesterday — my very first day of sixth grade. Lunchtime. I was terrified, because everyone told us the eighth graders would stuff us in lockers or jump us. Thats just the reality on the mean streets of the northeast. 

Sure enough, that day I got cornered by this massive eighth grader. He was 5’7, straight-up chulo. Meanwhile, your boy was 4’11 and 95 pounds soaking wet. I clenched my fists, ready for my first fight… then froze and closed my eyes, bracing for the worst.

And out of nowhere — Randy Orton, a.k.a. my sister, comes flying in. She literally RKO’d the dude and yelled, “Not this sixth grader, ese. You don’t mess with him — that’s my brother!”

I’ll never forget it. It was like Allen Iverson stepping over Tyronn Lue — except it was my sister stepping over José. I looked back at him and said, “That’s right. I’m with her.”

Sis, thanks for always protecting me growing up. I’m so happy you have someone now to protect and provide for you. Just one favor — don’t get into a fight after 6 p.m. My boy Sonny’s already in bed by 5:45.

Let me tell you about my best friend Jackie shes the life of the party, a lean mean machine, and the reason your hangover lasts two days. If there’s music, she’s dancing. If there’s tequila, she’s pouring. 

Jack, I love you more than carbs after 10 p.m. I can’t picture this life without you. We’ve done it all, from slanging the best drinks in town, to moving across the country together (TWICE)!

As we get you ready to marry the love of your life, I can’t help but remember all the fun memories we have made and how many more are to come. Thank you for letting me be a part of this beautiful journey with you!

It’s funny to say I’ve known both Sonny and Jackie for a long time. I went from chasing little Sonny around in middle school football trying to take his head off, to later running alongside Jackie during high school track with our city team. While I've shared great memories with both of them most of my stories are with Sonny. Here’s a fun little-known fact: Sonny has always been the first one to pass out. Whether we were waiting for his turn to play Xbox or I was closing out my bar tab for the fifth time, Sonny would somehow always be asleep in a corner. I am pleased that Jackie now has the opportunity to experience this phenomenon for the rest of her life. Out of countless memories I cherish with Sonny, I know May 2nd will always hold a special place in my heart. They are truly fortunate to have each other, and I can’t wait to see them say “I do.”.

From the crazy adventures to the inside jokes that still make us laugh until we cry, Jackie has been more than just my best friend-she's been my partner in chaos, my confidante, and my constant source of laughter. Watching her grow into the incredible woman she is today and now prepare to marry the love of her life fills me with so much joy- mostly because Sonny actually signed up for all of this willingly! I couldn't be more excited to stand by her side as she begins this beautiful new chapter. Join me in celebrating the soon-to-be Mrs, because if anyone deserves a love story as epic as her shuffling, its her.

“We are going to win this, I can feel it!" Jackie declared, her eyes bright with a mix of idealism and determination. It was class election time at Chapin High School and she decided to throw her hat in the ring for class president. Naturally, as her ride-or-die best friend, I was proudly appointed head of campaign shenanigans. Our strategy was simple: flood the school with Jackie's vibrant personality. We knew she was adored for being a stellar volleyball player and runner, a natural leader, articulate and genuinely caring, and everyone knew it.

My personal stroke of genius (or so I thought at the time) was a series of "guerrilla marketing" posters. My masterpiece was a highlighter green sign, carefully crafted with rainbow colored letters that read: "Don't wack it, Jack it! Jacquelyn Rojas for class president." The idea was to be edgy, memorable, and, well, a little bit cheeky. I strategically placed it right outside the boys' locker room, convinced it would secure the coveted male vote. It lasted precisely 42 minutes before a very flustered Mr. Gomez, our beloved English teacher, marched it straight to the trash can, scolding us about "inappropriate conduct." Jackie just rolled her eyes and manically laughed, which is exactly why I love her. Our campaign might have been a little unorthodox, but it was us.

Election day came and went. Despite our tireless efforts, ol’ homegirl Madison won. We were bummed, convinced the whole thing was rigged. Looking back, it was just a high school election, a blip in our long now 18 year history. But it taught us a valuable lesson about resilience and fighting for what you want in life. And while that election might have felt rigged, there's one thing I know for certain: the love Sonny has for Jackie is as real as it gets. There's no rigging that. And there's no doubting Sonny knows- he no longer needs to wack it, but Jack it for a lifetime!

Hi, I'm Madison! Jackie and I met in D.C. when we first started as flight attendants, and we instantly clicked. Over the years, our friendship has grown beyond the skies-we've shared countless laughs and adventures. From splitting bottles of wine in Seattle, to happy hour sushi in Sacramento, and (of course) indulging on the best soupy tacos at El Cometa in El Paso at 4AM, we've created memories to last a life time. I'm so ULTRA;-) grateful to be close with Jackie and her family, and I couldn't be more excited to stand by her side on such a special day! Here's to the future Castros!

Jack and I have known of each other for 3 years, two El Paso girls in the same circles, but it wasn’t until life brought us both to Dallas that our friendship blossomed. Since then, she’s become one of my best friends, the kind who listens without judgment, shows up with her whole heart, and somehow brings both calm and chaos in the best way possible. Watching Jack’s love story with Sonny unfold has been such a joy. From late-night talks about marriage aspirations at her kitchen table, to the emotional moment he proposed at their favorite Italian spot, to seeing her light up while saying “yes” to the dress, each moment has been full of love, laughter, and so much meaning. While Jack is the type of girl tearing up the dance floor, Sonny is the type to be fast asleep in the corner, yet somehow, their worlds mesh perfectly and make so much sense. I honestly can’t think of two people more deserving of a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and maybe a few naps too.

I’ve known Sonny for 21 years, and one of my earliest memories is him backing me up in middle school when some guy was messing with me. He didn’t even ask what was going on, he just jumped in. Think of the movie, The Town —“Whose car we takin’?”

That kind of loyalty has always been who Sonny is. And now years later, I get to see that same energy in how he shows up for Jackie. She’s the perfect balance for him, and I’m so happy they found each other. Can’t wait to celebrate them in May.

The Bond of Love in marriage, friendship and life is like peeing yourself; everyone can see it but only you enjoy the warm feeling that it brings. After nearly 30 years of that warmth, excited for people to see that behind his gruff and grumpy exterior is a kind, caring and genuine person matched only by the love of his life. A fiercely kind-hearted woman willing to have an impromptu dinner with your family and call your daughters on their birthday. Thankful to share this amazing moment with an awesome couple. Hi everyone, I’m Patrick. I’ve known Christopher since 7th grade, and I’ve seen every version of this man. From the kid whose football pads were too big for his tiny frame… to the college guy with the Jeep who thought he was way too cool… to the guy who, every time he got drunk, would cry and tell each of us how much he loved us. To now the guy that smokes cigars and , “enjoys” bourbon and self proclaimed got best yard on his street. More importantly now the man that finally met the love of his life and the moment we’ve been waiting for… marrying Jackie! Love you, Sonny and Jackie!
